Medieval Pipe, with Accessory Reed

Pipe is 28 inches long, and pitched in the key of F. Uses same fingering as the recorder, but requires stronger, more controlled breathing to keep the reed vibrating and in tune.

The solid rosewood pipe is carved in three sections, with brass trim and key. 8 finger holes. Reed mounts on the inside. One reed is included with the pipe, and an accessory reed will be included when you order from Spirit Guide.

The Medieval Pipe has a straight bore and the bell has an open end. The primary art in playing windcap instruments such as the medieval pipe is in maintaining a strong breath pressure to keep the reed vibrating and the instrument in tune.
